Visitor Information
All services and classes at Zion are open to the public, so we welcome visitors to join us!
Each Sunday, we have two divine services, at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. Services are held within the main church, which is the east building with the large steeple. Parking is available along the road south of the church and in the large parking lot between the church and parish hall (see yellow boxes below). The handicapped-accessible entrance is on the east side and offers access to an elevator.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is held the 2nd and last Sundays of each month. Zion practices closed Communion, which means that partaking in Holy Communion is limited to members of Zion Lutheran Church and members in good standing of other Missouri Synod Lutheran Churches. We do ask that visitors communicate with the pastor before partaking in Communion for the first time.
Sunday School for all ages is held between the two services at 9:20 a.m. All are welcome to join, and more information can be found on the Sunday School page.
Our pastor is available by appointment (or drop in any weekday morning) to answer questions. He leads classes to prepare visitors who want to become members. That opens up opportunities to receive the Lord’s Supper, participate on committees or in church offices, and become active participants in God’s work at Zion, beyond being hearers or inquirers.
If you are planning to visit, feel free to call the church office at 309.795.1063 or email at zionlcms@juno.com with any questions. While visiting, ushers will be waiting at the door to greet you and can answer any questions you have, or you can find them after the service as well.
